50 Cent Jokes About Michael Rainey Jr. Being Groped By Girl On Camera

Most of the time, it is easy for people to find the humor in 50 Cent‘s jokes about serious situations. This week, his reaction to Power star Michael Rainey Jr. being groped on camera was no laughing matter.

The G-Unit leader shared screenshots of TMZ covering Rainey’s recent incident with streamer TyTy James’ sister, where he was visibly uncomfortable, and attempted to downplay the situation. “Wait sexual assault,” he wrote with a shocked face emoji in a now-deleted Instagram post. “From a male perspective this was an aggressive advance. LOL HE’S fine no charges are being pressed [shrug emoji].”

This post backfired on the “In Da Club” rapper, who was immediately called out for having a lot to say about Diddy amid his lawsuits, his home being raided by Homeland Security, and the surfaced footage of him assaulting Cassie.

“The fact that 50 Cent came out and said Michael Rainey (Tariq from Power) was NOT sexually assaulted and that’s he’s fine when he clearly felt uncomfortable and immediately left when that girl touched him in his private parts is part of the problem in todays society,” one X user wrote. “Women can be predators too. Women can sexually assault others as well and women need to be held accountable. If he did that to her his whole life and career would be up in FLAMES. We have to protect our young black men too!”

“Of course, 50 cent dismissed Michael Rainey Jr. the lead in one of his shows being sexually assaulted ON CAMERA,” another user wrote. “But some of y’all put him on a pedestal when it comes to Diddy. His motivations are strictly personal. He does not [give a f**k] about victims of domestic & sexual violence.”

“50 Cent’s employee Michael Rainey Jr. was publicly sexually assaulted, and 50’s response was to insult him, gaslight him and dismiss the situation,” another user wrote. “All during ‘Men’s mental health awareness month’. Men don’t care about other men.”

The footage of Michael Rainey Jr. being groped on The Tylil Show went viral earlier this week. TyTy’s sister can be seen walking into the area where they are streaming and touching Rainey around his crotch area. The expression on his face immediately shifted to shock and discomfort, and he reportedly left soon after he was touched inappropriately.

“After the actions that occurred during my stream last night I would like to sincerely Apologize to Michael and his family for what took place,” TyTy wrote in his Instagram story. “My little sister was completely wrong and out of line. What she did was very inappropriate and unacceptable. I am truly embarrassed and disgusted by her actions. I completely respect whatever direction Michael [wants] to go in this situation.”

Rainey shared his own statement on the situation as well. “I am still in shock and don’t fully know how to process what happened last night,” he wrote in his Instagram story. “This is an unfortunate situation that I do not condone in any way. I can’t take it lightly because I know I would be in serious trouble if the roles were reversed. The fact is, sexual assault is never okay, regardless of gender or status. We’re all human and we should respect each other. Most importantly, we should always respect ourselves.”
